N2, a growing company based in Wilmington, North Carolina, is currently looking for our next high-level Ruby developer. Most of our team members are currently working from the comfort and safety of their homes and many will have the option to do so indefinitely. Our team designs, prints, and ships more than 800 monthly publications to neighborhoods across the country. This new team member would join our Software Development team to develop and maintain software for our operations.

Develop software features and solutions to solve business problems.
Provide customer support in the form of bug and ticket resolution.
Write well-designed, verifiable, and efficient code using software development best practices.
Perform a peer review of the code, expressing your opinion on standards, security and best practices.
Write clear and concise documentation as needed to support future team members and projects.
Be proficient in writing tests to reduce errors, regressions, and escaped defects.
Create user interfaces using HTML and CSS best practices.
Use APIs from internal services and external providers.
Provide information as well as options and recommendations for software features and system enhancements.
Collect and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
To get this concert, you need
More than 3 years of experience in Ruby.
The ability to demonstrate experience and proficiency in reading, writing, and reviewing code.
The ability to create user interface / site layout using HTML / CSS and React JavaScript libraries.
A deep understanding of how web applications work, including security, session management, and development best practices.
Complete working knowledge of MVC application architecture.
Complete understanding of relational database systems, object-oriented programming, and web application development.
Experience in the use of agile methodologies and evidence-based development.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and master various web technologies and techniques.
An attitude of a team player with the desire to be part of an organization that makes a difference in people’s lives.
It is not required, but we would love if you also have a 4-year degree in a computer-related discipline or a relevant degree. What we bring to the table
