Product designer (senior) Full Time
Plex is a fast growing company founded from the ground up in a remote work culture. We provide the number one solution to discover, enrich and view all your media in one place. Plex offers an extensive catalog of on-demand movies and shows, over 120 OTT live channels, support for OTA and DVR antennas, and streaming your personal media. Plex is widely available on mobile devices, televisions, set-top boxes, game consoles, and desktop platforms. We are looking for a talented product designer to join our product design team and use their skills to help shape the future of how users interact with the media that matter to them.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team and contribute to Plex’s evolving product offering with a dedicated focus on user experience, development of our design system, and some familiarity with application user interfaces. connected TVs. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in shaping the direction in which users discover and interact with the media that interest them. You will collaborate with our product managers, UX designers, and engineers to design new features and contribute to our cross-platform design system, including web, mobile, and TV device user interfaces.
What will you do:
As a Lead Product Designer at Plex, you will:
Take the initiative to think holistically about complex systems, empathize with customers, and understand business goals to create engaging and effective user experiences
Evaluate and define the role of platforms (mobile devices, desktop computers and televisions) and the experience for the development of new functions.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the design foundation in both UI (interaction, visual) and UX (user research, analysis, information architecture, wireframing)
Collaborate with engineers from each platform on pixel perfect execution
Provide and receive design criticism constructively and appreciate its importance within the design process.
Develop competence in design for multiple devices and platforms.
Live and breathe design, lead design initiatives and train junior designers
About you:
Over 5 years of experience shipping products used across multiple platforms and devices.
Mastery of current design software (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, …)
Exceptional design foundation in both UI (interaction, visual) and UX (user research, analysis, information architecture, wireframing)
Process-oriented but agile – the ability to quickly translate requirements into designs that are functional and attractive
Knowledge-based decision-making competence (based on data and user behavior)
A portfolio that demonstrates clean visual aesthetics and an eye for detail
Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive approach
Exceptional experience in design systems
Bonus points for:
Experience in designing TV user interfaces
CSS, HTML, Javascript, mobile development languages and detailed knowledge of how the modern web & amp; mobile applications are created
Experience leading a team of designers
