OpportunitySpringboard runs an online cybersecurity career path in which students learn with the help of a selected curriculum, mentors, professional trainers, and teaching assistants (TA). Our student support network comprises some of the best cybersecurity experts in the field. We are looking to hire a TA who is an experienced cybersecurity professional and is passionate about helping students learn the content covered in our cybersecurity curriculum. to help students progress through the curriculum by answering quick-stop questions. Be available on time for your scheduled TA shifts
Respond to students within 30 minutes (if you notice an increase in student demand, please let us know so we can find more staff for high-demand shifts)
Provide high-quality responses to student questions and curriculum / technical review requests in the form of email and chat to help students unlock.
Keep interaction times per student under 30 minutes (for long problems, students can queue again to give other students a chance to get help from TA)
Notify the Springboard team of planned breaks and vacations at least 1 week in advance
Expectations
Available on their turn to answer questions about the subject and provide feedback / problem solving on exercises, projects, and other items related to the students’ curriculum
Empathetic, friendly, polite and with excellent written communication skills.
Patient and take your time to understand the intention of the student when you approach, analyze their problem and adapt further to the situation depending on the dynamics of the interaction.
Able to show interest in the student’s success.
Competent and able to explain the use of the tools included in the cybersecurity curriculum.
Effective in guiding students through content, as well as problem solving and answering technical questions; share screens / control as needed to facilitate orientation
Great for managing time and prioritizing important items in times of high demand for technical support
Become familiar with other channels of student support and be able to direct the student to the appropriate channel if relevant (for example, the career coach for questions related to career or job guarantee).
